    Mathematics

I can add 3-digit numbers in my head using place value and friendly numbers.

Look: two ways to add in your head

    1. Add each place: 243 + 125 is 300, then 60, then 8. That makes 368.
    2. Friendly numbers: for 299 + 45, think 300 + 45, which is 345.
    3. You added 1 too many, so take 1 away: 344.

Solve in your head. Write only the answer.

    1. 1.

      320 + 140 = ____

    2. 2.

      156 + 200 = ____

    3. 3.

    3. Add 's to show who owns something: Kai's backpack.
