Everything you need for a full year of 3rd grade — organized by kit, with quarter notes.

• Math kit

  All year

  Counters, base-ten blocks, fraction tiles, multiplication chart, dry-erase board, ruler, protractor (optional), dice, deck of cards.

• ELA kit

  All year

  Spiral notebook, pencil pouch, highlighters in 3 colors, sticky tabs, weekly anchor texts (see Bookshelf).

• Science kit — Q1

  Q1

  Magnets, paperclips, small toy cars, ramp (a book works), tape, paper.

• Science kit — Q2

  Bean seeds, paper cups, soil, water, magnifying glass, observation journal.

  Thermometer, rain gauge (or measuring cup), cloud chart, map of your region.

  Modeling clay, recycled containers, string, scissors, items for a habitat diorama.

  Map of your community (print one), globe (or use the curriculum's map sets), interview recorder, civic vocabulary deck.

  Watercolors, oil pastels, scissors, glue stick, recycled paper. PE: jump rope, sidewalk chalk, soft ball.
