What it means for your child

Your child uses fossils as evidence of the living things and environments of long ago, like sea fossils found on land that was once under water.

Try it at home

1. Press a shell into clay to make a model fossil.
2. Visit a natural history museum or look at fossil photos online from a museum site.
3. Ask, 'If we found a fish fossil in a desert, what would that tell us?'
